Present : Scott Cohen, Tom Mendina, Steven Baker, Hope Shull, Margaret Cardwell, Bob Lhota, Annette Hunt-Berhe.
Meeting was called to order by Pres. Bob Lhota with the election of officers for the upcoming year. Steven Baker from Union University was selected Chair; Annette Hunt-Berhe from LeMoyne-Owen, Vice-Chair; Margaret Cardwell from Christian Brothers, Secretary.
First order of business was discussion of changes in the constitution:
Article III. Membership.
Section 3 adds wording that allows associate memberships for other library types. A three-quarter majority vote of the full membership would be required. The associate members would be able to participate in all activities of the group except those of the governing board.
Article VIII. Bylaws.
Section 2 adds wording to specify that the conveners of staff development groups will be appointed annually by the Board at the spring meeting.
A motion was made by Hope Shull and seconded by Annette Hunt-Berhe to accept the amendments. It passed by voice vote.
Other discussion included the site of the next meeting. It was noted that the next fall meeting had been scheduled for Bethel College. It was suggested that a Fri., 10 A.M. in late Sept.- early Oct. was preferable. If that's not acceptable to Harold Kelly, it will be hosted by Jackson State.
