After graduating from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I began teaching High School in Nashville, Tennessee. Although I enjoyed teaching accounting and computers to seniors in high school, I believed that higher education was my calling. I began my college teaching at University of Tennessee Nashville and then continued on to Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin.
In 1978, my husband was transferred to Jackson for his job with Tennessee OSHA, and I started teaching part-time at JSCC and at Lambuth. In 1982, I became a full-time instructor with JSCC after completing a graduate degree from University of Memphis. I have enjoyed teaching many different courses at JSCC but have settled into areas of Management, Business Statistics, Introduction to Business, and Quality Management. I also enjoy working with freshman in Orientation and advising students in the Master Advising program. After many years of teaching, and I still love the classroom.
Personal Mission: I do believe that the one wish that I always wanted for my students is that they will love their occupation as much as I do. I encourage them to work at something you love and the money will follow.
